I was reading an post about “What you would grab if the house burnt down” on one of my favorite blogs www.MUMMYVSDADDY.com and it made me think about what I would do in a similar situation.
If my house was ablaze and I had only a few moments to grab some priced possessions before the roof fell down around me I would only three things.
I would grab a binder that I keep on top of my dresser. This binder contains the entire collective works of my Dungeons and Dragons experience. I have spent countless hours (if not weeks) pouring my fantasy style adventuring ideas and Dungeon Master plans into it. I have also written the entire history of the world in which my campaign takes place and the history of what has happened in the champaign and what I plan to do in future campaigns. So its pretty much my obsession.
the next thing I would grab is my journal. I got these two, large, hardback notebooks last christmas and I have filled one half way with journal entries and yet to get to the second. I try to write every day, but with school, my responsibilities as a DM, and and lack of writing ideas I dont always write.
The last thing I would save if my house wherever on fire is this small time capsule I put together last summer. All it really has in it is a bunch of christmas/birthday cards that I kinda-sorta just wanted to get rid of, some jewelry that I didn't really were and some other junk. Despite that I would like to save it because way in the future when I open it I think the memories in it would mean something to me I don't want to miss out on that.
I would like to know what YOU would grab if your house where on fire you can leave your answer in the comments below.
